10 Comic Villains You Didn't Realise Actually Won
5. Ra's Al Ghul - Tower Of Babel
The Tower of Babel storyline is almost infamous as the one story of a villain overcoming the Justice League. Within it, Ra's Al Ghul manages to use the Dark Knight's surprisingly poorly hidden plans, which detail exactly how he would take down his fellow heroes should the need ever arise.
And yet, because he gets beat around a bit by Bats towards the end of the comic, most people think Ra's loses in his fight against our costumed crusaders.
But look at what Ra's does actually achieve, all of his broken bones aside. He manages to split apart one of the most powerful superhero teams in the world - weakening them considerably - as well as limiting Batman's possible allies for any future attack.
While the Dark Knight does eventually make up with his fellow League members, the memory of his betrayal will certainly remain in the backs of their minds whenever he needs their help - and that's the biggest psychological victory that the Demon's Head could have managed.
