10 Comic Writers Who Need To Stop
It's for everybody's sake, guys
Dark HorseThe life of a comics writer is not an easy one. Even if the financial, personal and professional strains don't totally crush your will to live, you've got to contend with the crippling expectations of fans who have been reading characters for years if not decades, who will be intimately familiar with the history of comics and possibly your own track record. Anything you do will be judged against an endless stream of irrational metrics, and chances are you won't come up trumps. Us comics readers are notoriously fickle, and boy do we love to complain about stuff nobody else cares about. Sometimes though, we're right on the money. Whilst we can't necessarily expect monthly masterpieces from writers who are probably spinning a half dozen different yarns every couple of weeks just to stay afloat, we can expect them to write stuff that isn't utter garbage. We don't think it's unrealistic to expect writers to produce work that isn't offensive, lazy, nonsensical, or terrible. We also don't think writers should rest on the laurels of either their past material or the character they're working on. There's a heck of a lot of people penning funnybook scripts, and not all of them are good. From plain terrible writers to former stalwarts who have fallen on hard times, here are ten comic writers who just need to stop. Please, guys.
