Ever fail to manipulate someone so badly that when it blows up in your face, it takes your entire timeline with it? That's what happened to Kang when he thought he could control the Apocalypse Twins.

Now, anyone with any amount of sense could see the problems with trying to control people literally called the APOCALYPSE Twins, but Kang's ego really got the better of him this time. Kang kidnapped the Apocalypse Twins when they were infants from Archangel, raising them to be the perfect warriors of his army.

However, as you can probably predict, the twins learned a little too much from daddy dearest, and turned on him the first chance they got. They then traveled back to the present day, killed a celestial because screw you, who's gonna stop them, and ultimately messed things up so badly that Kang's native timeline was wiped from existence, leaving Kang as the only survivor.

Plenty of villains have had their plans foiled by the very people they manipulated to their side in order to bring it to fruition, but only Kang can claim to have failed so spectacularly that his entire timeline had to foot the bill.
