10 Comics Panels Where You Really Didn't Want To Turn The Next Page

3. Lori And Judith Join The Walking Dead

The Amazing Spider Man 121 Death Of Gwen Stacey
Image Comics

If this list were limited to panels and splash pages of only The Walking Dead, it wouldn't be so hard to find examples as it would be cutting them down to ten. The series wasn't afraid to do horrible things to its characters, but until this issue, it wasn't wrong to consider the members of the Grimes family safe.

While at the prison, the group had set up defenses and were making their stand, but Rick's wife Lori, wasn't exactly a combatant, as she had to keep Judith safe. While holding the infant child close to her chest, things got ugly.

The page turned to this splash in the middle of the book, and sure enough, Lori got blasted from behind with a shotgun. The round went through her and came out the other side of Judith. With that single pull of the trigger, Lori and Judith were gone.

This page was unsettling for a number of reasons, as nobody likes to see an infant blasted with a shotgun, but The Walking Dead never pulled its punches.

The Grimes family was no longer safe, and anything could happen. Turning the page meant these two were gone for good, and that was more than enough to give the most avid of TWD readers pause.
