10 Comics Villains Who Had The Best Debuts
3. Galactus
After battling the Inhumans and just about escaping with their lives, the Fantastic Four have no time to rest - at least not with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby at the helm.
Arriving back on Earth, they find the skies are on fire and that people are panicking, and if that's not bad enough, The Watcher arrives with some chilling news. The Silver Surfer is on his way and where he goes, Galactus is sure to soon follow.
The Devourer of Worlds is one of the greatest bad guys to ever to grace the page, if for no other reason than he eats fricking planets for lunch, and though he only appears at the end of FF #48 - and for some reason by space ship - his towering presence is enough to set him apart from the other villains that Marvel's first family had previously faced.
Decked out in a red and emerald color scheme, instead of his usual purple number, and with a giant letter G stamped on his chest, his opening lines are legendary.
"My journey has ended! This planet shall sustain me until it has been drained of all elemental life! So speaks Galactus!"
Which is pretty badass for a guy in a tin hat.
