10 Comics Where You Couldn’t Help But Root For The Villain

Can't help rooting for them, or actively encouraged? You decide. DC's Suicide Squad takes in a rotating roster of scum and villainy, from expert assassin Deadshot to the Joker's squeeze herself, Harley Quinn (plus Aussie Captain Boomerang).

Assembled by none-too-clean-herself handler Amanda Waller, this gang of supervillains and criminals are sent in to handle the jobs the Justice League won't touch, with complete deniability. Yes, like some kind of... Suicide Squad.

With the team channeled into committing acts of good (albeit via remote controlled explosive) we're granted a deeper insight than usual into their psychology and inner workings. You know, more than you'd generally get than when Batman is there, punching their lights out. The constant shadiness of Amanda Waller also tends to make them seem more sympathetic by comparison. One always takes the supervillain over the bureaucrat.

This all makes them easier to swing for than most supervillain teams, even if it is by design.
