10 Comics You Should Re-Read As An Adult

8. Final Crisis

One of the most conflicting emotions to have about a comic is confusion. On one hand it's not entertaining you, but in some cases (such as this) you're left wondering how much of that is on you for not having the mental library for understanding the content in front of you.

The majority of people who read Final Crisis the first time had no god damn idea what was going on, completely losing the what's, where's and why's in its journey up its own ass. And we only retain the who's because everyone is wearing primary colors.

However, it IS a Grant Morrison comic, so there is undoubtedly something more going on underneath. Don't ask me what it is, because I don't know. But then, maybe you will. I cannot promise that you'll like or hate it anymore than you already do, but the content of this comic is so fascinatingly obtuse and weirdly written that it demands a re-read.

Maybe one day we'll figure out what Morrison was trying to actually say here. But that day probably ain't anytime soon.
