So far we've seen comics that were either good and got better with age, or ones that you probably ignored and should give another try.

Not all the comics being covered from here on out are bad, but the way you interpreted them when you were a kid probably was, and a re-read will only do you good. To wit, we have Spawn, the golden boy of the 90's indie scene, the flagship franchise of the original Image lineup, and kinda disappointing when you actually read it today.

Sure guest writers like Neil Gaiman did their best to keep the ship afloat, but at the end of the day, it would come down to Todd McFarland, who was a FAR better business man than writer. Sure the best stories are still classics, but the bad ones form a big canyon between them because most of the issues are bad.

It cannot be taken away from Spawn just what his creation did for the industry. But it's safe to say that the industry has outgrown him.
