7. Rick Jones Just Happens To Be Everywhere All The Time

If I were the Avengers - or, really, any superhero in the Marvel Universe - I would be very suspicious of Rick Jones. It was Rick who Bruce Banner rescued from a gamma bomb test, thus becoming the Incredible Hulk. It was Rick who, whilst messing about with a HAM radio, got Loki menacing Earth and forced the Avengers to form. He was at the centre of the Kree-Skrull War and the Destiny War. He put together the first group that really challenged the teenaged Runaways. Rick Jones was present for, and sometimes responsible for, a lot of the deaths that happen in Marvel Comics (and that is a lot of deaths). Yet nobody ever questions it, which means that you shouldn't either, True Believer! As the man himself admitted in his fictional autobiography - part of a particularly good arc of Alias - he's something of a Forrest Gump of Marvel History, coincidentally stumbling into almost every major event that's occurred since the early sixties. Yep, just a coincidence. I guess I can get behind that.
