10 Criminally Overlooked Ongoing Comics You Need To Check Out

4. Doom Patrol: Weight Of The Worlds

Gerard Way is a gift to all comic fans. From Umbrella Academy to The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, to Doom Patrol - now wrapping up Way's second volume - everything he writes is amazing.

Unfortunately Weight of the Worlds' final issue is scheduled for release in March, making this a technically-accurate, but rather tragic entry on a list of amazing "ongoing" comics.

Despite the series' abbreviated longevity, it's still definitely worth checking out. Way has done some beautiful things in this volume, reuniting Beast Boy with his original team, turning Lotion - the anthropomorphic cat - into a cosmic feline god, and generally pushing Doom Patrol's trademark mind-bending absurdity to the extreme.

This series has some of the most fun fourth-wall-breaks in comics, like one page which featured Casey Brinke and Fugg playing with Harley Quinn and Joker action figures from the Batman animated series (in a completely unexplained literal blood bath). It's wild, it's fun, it's completely insane. Gerard Way describes the content as "cosmic weirdness and positivity," and that's honestly the perfect tag line for this title.
