10 Criminally Overlooked Ongoing Comics You Need To Check Out

3. Die

Green Lantern Far Sector
Image Comics/Stephanie Hans

Described by its creator as "goth Jumanji," this series centers on adults who played a new role playing game one of them created when they were teens, and barely survived. When they started to play, the fiction of the game became real, and the players were literally pulled into the dark fantasy world. Now, twenty-seven years after they first entered that world (and twenty-five years after they - most of them - finally escaped it), they've been sucked back in.

Now in their forties, this group of maladjusted, estranged former friends have to relive the traumatic adventure they narrowly escaped two and a half decades prior - an experience none of them have ever been able to directly speak about.

This series has gorgeous art with a limited color palette, and is worth checking out just for that, but it's a legitimately wonderful book in every way.
