10 DC Characters Who Killed Superman (And What Happened To Them)

The DC Presents Universe is a funny old place, in that it's literally never not showing a totally weird and wild theoretical comic scenario.

That's exactly why it's not entirely surprising that Superman dies in DC Comics Present #51, because of course he does at some point in this series - and because the entire story is about finding a way to prevent said death.

In fact, the comic begins with Superman's death at the hands of the alien Orgons, and then immediately turns to the Atom teaming up with a Superman from ten minutes before the event in order to make sure the aliens don't actually murder the Man of Steel.

Though this results in Superman surviving, it does essentially create an alternate universe where Superman instead flees from the aliens, meaning in the initial timeline Superman does still die. It's like Back to the Future, only nobody ends up being hit on by their own mother.
