10 DC Supervillains That Vanished Without A Trace
6. The Clown
Lyle Corley was a trapeze artist who worked with his family at a circus. During their act, a blackout occurred, causing Corley's family to fall to their death. Corley survived but injured his head, which left him unable to speak. Since the Flash was meant to show up at the circus that day, Corley blamed the Scarlet Speedster for not saving his family. Although the Flash was busy working with the Justice League, Corley was too blinded with rage to see reason and became a supervillain called The Clown.
This mute jester has an assortment of weapons disguised as silly paraphernalia including a pogo stick-sword, poisonous pies, and lethal laughing gas.
Despite the fact the Clown is mostly forgotten, he is the most influential character on this list since he was instrumental in creating one of Flash's deadliest enemies. Hunter Zolomon was a FBI agent who was tasked with taking down the Clown. After the Clown shot him in the leg, Hunter had to get a job as a profiler, where he regularly worked with the Flash.
If Hunter never confronted the Clown, he would have never met Flash and obtained the speed powers that turned him into the supervillain, Zoom.
