10 Deadliest Enemies The Flash Ever Faced
5. Gorilla Grodd
This monstrous, telepathic gorilla and ruler of a secretive nation is one of the Flash's strangest foes. As a would-be world conqueror, he's also easily one of the most dangerous.
Born into a race of highly intelligent simians dwelling in a hidden Gorilla City deep in the African Jungle, Grodd was particularly power-hungry and had plans for world domination. Rising up against the Gorilla City's peaceful monarch King Solovar, Grodd quickly became DC's alpha-ape.
First featured in The Flash #106 from 1959, this super simian pre-dating The Planet of the Apes was super-strong, super-smart, commanded an army of gorillas, and could control minds. Having developed this power using a mix of technology and meditation, Grodd could recruit others to his cause with ease. With this army, he's attempted to invade man's world several times.
Battling multiple incarnations of the Flash as well as a host of other heroes, Grodd is constantly trying to grab for power and ensure his super simians become the dominant race on Earth.
