10. Silver Surfer Does The Trick
Perhaps the most famous character to defeat this particular hungry hippo, Silver Surfer has tangled with his master on at least several separate occasions.
As Galactus' OG Herald - the being tasked with seeking planets for the Devourer to, well, devourer - the Surfer (originally known as Norrin Radd) traded his freedom to save his own planet from destruction. He would later find Earth, and, having deemed it to be a suitable snack for Galactus, the Fantastic Four began to clash with the character.
Sensing that he'd maybe, y'know, messed up, Radd turned on his master, at which point Reed Richards used the Ultimate Nullifier (more on that in a second) to kick the cosmic creep to the curb. The Surfer has, however, taken on his master alone before, in the pages of Guardians of the Galaxy no less.
Equipped with a newfound power and some nifty looking gauntlets, the Surfer directly fed Galactus with raw energy to stave off the character's hunger, at least temporarily. Norrin Radd-ical.
