10 Dumbest Decisions Marvel Heroes Have Ever Made
8. Daredevil Declares He's The Kingpin - Daredevil #50 (2003)
After Wilson Fisk was shot seven times, blinded, and stabbed repeatedly in the chest, his nemesis, Daredevil, was relieved, believing the Kingpin of Crime was finally dead.
But three years later, Fisk had licked his wounds and returned to New York to reclaim his city. After ordering the murder of his competitors, it seemed like the Kingpin was back.
Just as he was preparing to take over all the major crime factions in the area, Daredevil burst in and battered Fisk within an inch of his life. To ensure no other criminal filled the vacuum, the Man Without Fear declared himself the new Kingpin of New York, saying that "I am not protecting this city anymore. I am running it." Not only that, he pulled off his mask, revealing his identity as Matt Murdock to most of the major criminals in New York.
Not only was it idiotic to reveal his face to a horde of mobsters and killers, the criminal underworld believed Matt Murdock was their new crime boss. Considering Matt was trying to lay low since the media at the time speculated he and Daredevil were one and the same, this was a really bad move.
