10 Dumbest Supervillain Schemes You Won't Believe

3. Carnage Uploads Himself To A Video Game

Carnage Video Game
Marvel

Maximum Carnage is a Spider-Man story published in 1993 that revolves around Venom's spawn, Carnage. The series was so successful, it inspired a video game.

This game, in turn, inspired a comic called Venom Carnage Unleashed. In this series, a video game company asks the facilitator of the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane if they could make a game based on one of their inmates, Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage. However, they cannot get the rights to use Kasady's likeness unless he agrees to it. Kasady allows it under the condition that he is one of the game's Beta testers. The Ravencroft facilitator agrees to let the serial killer play this game because she is, what is commonly known as, an idiot.

When Kasady plays the game, he uploads the Carnage Symbiote onto the Internet and kills everyone who plays it. If you are trying to comprehend how stupid that sentence is, you must remember that this story was written in the 1990s when nobody had a clue how the Internet worked.

Guess what? It gets stupider. The story concludes with Venom uploading himself to the game and battling Carnage on the Internet. If anyone says comic books are stupid, they’re right.
