10 Dystopian Futures Of Comic Book Superheroes

2. Old Man Logan

X-Men Days Of Future Past
Marvel Comics

Imagine going to the trouble of averting the horrors of Days Of Future Past only to discover your twilight years still suck. It's little wonder that the Wolverine is so perennially grumpy.

Old Man Logan is his Western: with the rest of the X-Men dead and the world conquered by its supervillains, Logan lives in retirement, hiding out on a small farm with his wife and two children. Needing money to pay the rent to the Hulk's inbred relatives, Logan agrees to one last job with the now-blind marksman Hawkeye, delivering a secret package way across country.

Needless to say, things don't go to plan, and it's not long before Logan has popped his claws once more and has some serious avenging to do...

None of which sounds much like this year's Logan. A typically mean, violent Mark Millar story, Old Man Logan bears one thing in common - an old man Logan - with this year's 'adaptation'. It is, however, one of comics' most exciting and brutal dystopian stories - the blockbuster that even R-Rated Marvel or Marvel would never let you see on the big screen.
