10 Epic Comic Book Fights With Underwhelming Endings

8. Superboy Prime Vs Everyone - Infinite Crisis #6-7 (2006)

Catwoman Vs 3 Flashes
DC Comics

Crisis on Infinite Earths is the most famous Event, not just in DC Comics, but in comic book history. So for its 20 year anniversary, it was decided to make a sequel called Infinite Crisis.

The plot kicked off when the survivors of Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kal-L, Alexander Luthor, and Superboy-Prime, broke free from their makeshift prison and attempted to recreate their universe, which would result in the destruction of the current one.

Even though the series had a lot to live up to, Infinite Crisis was universally praised. It was one of the biggest turning points in DC Comics, developed iconic characters like Batman and Wonder Woman, and told its own story rather than relying on the nostalgia of its predecessor.

But there was one thing that stopped Infinite Crisis from being perfect - the antagonist, Superboy-Prime. Prime acted like a petulant child, making it impossible for him to be an intriguing villain. Fans were also furious to see Prime kill so many superheroes in such an anticlimactic manner. (He murdered Pantha with a backhand.)

Even though Prime's tragic backstory makes him a potentially sympathetic baddie, you can't take him seriously while he's having toddler-like tantrums.
