10 Epic Comic Book Fights With Underwhelming Endings

4. Black Panther VS Silver Surfer - Fantastic Four #545 (2007)

Catwoman Vs 3 Flashes
Marvel Comics

Galactus' herald, the Silver Surfer, is one of the most powerful beings in the cosmos. Because he is fuelled by the Power Cosmic, his strength surpasses Earth's greatest warriors including the Hulk and Thor. The few times someone defeated the Surfer was usually through outsmarting him rather than beating him to a pulp.

But there are exceptions. As the Thing, Human Torch, Storm, and Black Panther headed to space to study an anomaly revolving around the celestial being, Epoch, the Silver Surfer confronted them and order them to leave. When the Silver Surfer tried to fly away with Epoch, Black Panther and his allies attacked him. The heroes hit the surfing alien with fire blasts, asteroids, and superdense hydrogen, but it didn't even slow him down.

That's when Black Panther leapt at the Silver Surfer and defeated him with... an arm lock. Even though Silver Surfer has fought Thanos and is strong enough to survive within a black hole, he couldn't release himself from the Wakandan king's grasp.

If the Silver Surfer wasn't freed by one of his allies, he would forever be known as the herald that was defeated by a rudimentary wrestling move.
