10 Exact Moments That Made Batman Fans Rage Quit

5. The Final Straw In Batman And Catwoman's 'Almost' Marriage

One of the oldest relationships in comics began a long time ago when Batman first met Selina Kyle. He was immediately taken with her, and over the years, the two have had an on-again/off-again type of relationship. That went on for years, and recently, it looked like they might finally tie the knot.

This is Batman, and as all fans know, the man gets engaged a lot but has never been married. After all, his Bruce Wayne persona is that of a billionaire playboy, not some guy who settles down. Still, it looked like it might finally happen, and DC spent the better part of 50 issues building up to it.

While that was going on in the comics, DC launched a PR campaign all about the pending nuptials, and after all the buildup, the fans got burned, not once, but twice! First, the New York Times screwed things up by spoiling the ending.

After that, the wedding just doesn't happen, and after so much buildup, many fans weren't happy. Selina decided not to marry Bruce, as she felt their marriage would take him away from his more important role as Gotham's protector, and with that, Bruce went back to his playboy persona.
