10 Fantastic Four Comics You Must Read Before You Die

Hot off the back of A Small Loss, John Byrne is at it again with the Trial of Galactus. When Terrax is sent to Earth to wreak havoc, even going as far as to rip the Island of Manhattan from New York and buggering off into space with it, the Fantastic Four do their thing and stop him.

This will lead to a very annoyed Galactus showing up and trying to kill everybody, and it takes the combined forces of nearly all of the planet's superheroes to bring him down. Just as they are about to land the killing blow, Reed pipes up and suggests they at least follow due process and put him on trial.

This will backfire spectacularly, as Richards himself is then put on space trial for stopping the others from offing the purple devourer of worlds, but as always he wins out, to return to his family.

The best part about this whole story is that Byrne, as he writes in his forward, was asked to return Galactus to his former glory. He does that in spades, making the massive planet eater a threat again, one that needs more than just four people to take down.
