10 Funniest Comic Advertisements

4. Blasto

Snickers Doomsday Ad
Sony

Eternal blessings to the elderly actors who dressed up as off-brand superheroes to hype Blasto, a superhero-themed platforming game for the PlayStation. Given the very real chance of one of their grandchildren finding this ad, you can only hope they were paid a decent amount of cash.

Unlike some other ads, this one is a completely wholesome kind of comedy. Blasto was released in 1998, only four years after the release of the console it was made for - the first PlayStation.

With this in mind, There’s an almost certain chance that literally none of the elderly actors who signed up for this role had any real idea of what they were advertising, which makes the whole thing even funnier. Did the director have to explain the game’s obsession with the planet Uranus? We can but hope.
