Generally, when people think of the Infinity Gauntlet, they think of the new film, or Thanos – or both. What they likely don’t think of – or have the god forsaken pleasure of knowing – is that the Gauntlet actually canonically was once worn by our very own Santa Claus.

There are very few things likely to surprise a veteran comic reader, but seeing Father Christmas going hog wild after getting the Infinity Gauntlet is unmistakably top of that list. That’s the beauty of it, really – it’s so unexpected, so downright unusual, unnecessary and outright insane that it can’t not be funny.

The only tragedy of this is that Santa slowing going insane with power wasn’t a full blown comic. Though, with a little luck, this will be the actual way that Infinity Wars ends – fingers crossed.
