10 Genius Comic Book Ideas That Should've Been Terrible

During Chris Claremont's time with the X-Men, the writer introduced a whole host of new mutants, some of with would go on to be firm fan favourites and integral to the team as we know it today. However, with so many new characters coming to the pages, it was difficult for a mutant to stand out from the crowd.

Luckily, Jubilee had an answer to that problem: fireworks. After discovering her mutant powers by accident, she used them to make some money performing at malls (and avoiding the mall cops who tried to shut her down). That's kind of it though. Sure, she's good at hand to hand combat in pinch, but that's pretty much all she can do.

It seems odd that such a mediocre power could grant a character the popularity Jubilee has achieved, but she is more than just the firework girl. She was welcomed with open arms by the Professor and even managed to develop a close relationship with the most unapproachable mutant of them all, Wolverine.

Jubilee's incredible personality has turned what could have been a terrible character into an essential part of X-Men history.
