10 Greatest Marvel/DC Team-Ups

10. Batman/Punisher: Deadly Knights

In 1994, Batman and the Punisher teamed up in not one but two special one-offs, the first being Batman/Punisher: Lake of Fire, in which Bruce and Frank had to unite in order to stop Jigsaw from setting fire to Gotham City's water supply for some obviously well thought through reason or other. It was fine as far as meetings between two of the most brutal and fascistic superheroes can go when neither is allowed to either throw the other in jail or kill him, but it didn't contain quite as cool a crowning moment as its sequel. Deadly Knights, written by Chuck Dixon with art by John Romita Jr., sees Jigsaw return to Gotham to team up with the Joker and Batman and Punisher reform their uneasy alliance, up until the moment when Bruce shuts down Frank's attempt to start a fight with him with all the ice-cold cool of a guy who's taken on much harder than Frank Castle.
