10 Greatest Moments From Jason Aaron's Thor

8. The God Without Fear

In the build up to War of the Realms, Marvel released a promotional art piece that appeared to depict Daredevil wielding Heimdall's sword and his eyes glowing like the all-seeing god's own. Lo and behold when issue #3 hit shelves, thats exactly what happened.

Having been blinded by the Mangog during the death of the Mighty Thor arc, Heimdall granted his power and his sword to Daredevil allowing him to be able to hear everything that Heimdall was once able to see.

Watching Daredevil, a devout Catholic, trying to adjust to his new godly powers and how that affects his faith was a surprising and unexpected addition to this already dense event series. The War Scrolls tie-ins in particular are a must read for this fantastic combination.

It would have been on thing for a fellow Asgardian to takeover Heimdall's role, but allowing a decidedly street level hero to takeover was a fantastic way to expand the Thor mythos. Once again Aaron showcased his ability to expertly allow other characters to shine in unique and engaging ways.
