9. The Shi'Ar Invade
Historically in Marvel, the X-Men have been the group most associated with the Shi'Ar Empire.
And, while Thor and the other Asgardians are known for getting into large battles, Asgard itself usually isn't where those battles take place. Which made it all the more surprising that during the build up to War of the Realms, the Shi'Ar Empire invaded Asgard looking to capture Thor (Jane Foster).
Like the majority of Jane's time as the Mighty Thor, the art is top notch and the brief battle between characters we don't normally see interact is impeccable. For anyone that was wondering before hand who was stronger, Thor or Gladiator, Jason Aaron wastes no time answering that question.
Another rather interesting question Aaron poses, then answers, is what would happen if Heimdall blinked? With his all seeing eyes, launching a sneak attack against Asgard is virtually impossible. That is, unless someone like Gladiator, is fast enough to fly across the cosmos in the time it takes Heimdall to blink.
