Since he is so recognizable in the yellow and blue spandex, it is hard to imagine anything X-related that doesn't involve the man named after a mythical one-eyed beast.

Summers' mutant power is what makes his character so unique. This hero lacks mental powers or the ability to fly but he can emit powerful beams of energy from his eyes. This laser is extremely powerful but the catch is he cannot control the beams without the aid of special eyewear. His ability coming at such a cost makes him as much a threat as a hero, making this character more compelling than most.

Scott's tenure in the X-Men has been rougher than most and yet he continually soldiers on through tragedy after tragedy, making him the epitome of what it means to truly be a hero.
