The Umbrella Academy has seen a huge surge in popularity thanks to its Netflix adaptation.

Part of what makes the show so great is how perfectly cast the characters are. Ellen Page does a brilliant job of conveying the inner struggle of the seventh sibling, Vanya Hargreeves.

All seven of the adopted Hargreeves children possessed powers and abilities that set them apart from each other, all apart from Vanya. Instead, she grew up to be rather ordinary and wrote a book about her experiences from the sidelines of the now-famous band of heroes.

She soon discovered, however, that she did possess powers and was quite possibly the most powerful of all her siblings. Full of rage, Vanya tried to cause an apocalypse by crashing the moon into Earth.

Thankfully, she was stopped just in time and in both versions suffered from severe memory loss. In the show, this was likely due to trauma while the comic went for a more literal hole in her head.

While recovering as a normal person, Vayna's memories eventually returned to her and she remembered all of the horrors she had committed. Vanya was left with the knowledge that she was the villain that caused her family so much heartbreak.
