10 Holidays To Not Invite A Superhero To

8. Halloween: Doctor Strange

No one knows what Halloween means any more, and those who participate in it all love joking about that as they celebrate it. But if Doctor Strange were to come into the picture, he would, intentionally or not, both bring meaning back to the holiday and destroy it, traumatizing children by causing them to come into direct contact with real demons, monsters, and the like, upsetting parents everywhere, and creating a paradox that would rip apart the very fabric of spacetime on this level of reality. Sure, it would give him something to solve, but he wouldn€™t want to ruin anything for anyone. Doctor Strange€™s reverence for the paranormal€”or really his presence anywhere€”requires that in one way or another he must remind people what it means, but summoning demons to make kids respect the ideas and origins behind Halloween will just make said kids live in fear and ultimately regress into more primitive times. Creating rituals, festivals, and outright sacrifices for the dead make people sick even more than too much candy, and that€™s just not the best thing for anybody, especially on a weeknight. Plus we€™d have to have more trick-or-treaters during the day. Ugh.
