10 Horror Superheroes Who Give Villains Nightmares

9. Cloak

Spawn character
Marvel Comics

Don't let his appearance on Freeform's MCU-adjacent YA series of the same name fool you. Cloak is not a good boy.

Let's start off with the obvious: Cloak is driven by an unquenchable thirst for the lives of others. His powers give him the ability to go anywhere and do almost anything he wants when he gets there, but the drawback is that he must consume life to sustain this, and himself. This has caused him to form an odd, complex symbiotic relationship with the superheroine Dagger, whose light powers keep the hunger at bay for short periods of time.

But if Dagger ever stopped being part of the equation, it would only be a matter of time before Cloak lost control and started slurping up life energy like tic-tacs. Even forgiving that, Cloak as a presence is just kinda eerie. Probably why the greater Marvel universe never really interacts with him or Dagger on a regular basis.

But for the time being, Cloak is on the side of good, and has his hunger in check for the most part. Hopefully (for the villains' sake if nothing else) things stay that way.
