10 Hulk Fates Worse Than Death

5. Everything About The New Abomination - Immortal Hulk #18

Abomination Immortal Hulk
Marvel Comics

The original Abomination was more of an abomination in name only, as he may have looked (and acted) like a monster, but he retained his intelligence, unlike the Hulk. Emil Blonsky was the Abomination in the comics for a long time, but he was killed by Red Hulk soon after his introduction, paving the way for someone new.

In 2019, Marvel Comics introduced a new version of the character who truly lives up to the name. Rick Jones, who was once A-Bomb, was killed... for a while. Shadow Base retrieved his body, and it was used to recreate Abomination in as disturbing a way as possible. He first showed up in Immortal Hulk #18, and many readers (and the Hulk) wish he hadn't.

By using Emil Blonsky's DNA, Shadow Base managed to splice it into Rick's body, resulting in the creation of a new Abomination. The new version had a hand for a head, and when that hand was opened, it revealed Rick Jones's face.

That disturbing body horror imagery revealed Jones' face within the hand, and it was literally begging for death. After being resurrected, Jones suffered a fate that wasn't only worse than death; it was disturbing and ... well, it was truly an abomination.
