10 Human Comic Book Characters With Better Prep Skills Than Batman

5. Doctor Strange (Marvel Comics)

Classic Doctor Strange Classic Doctor Strange could certainly out-prep Batman, but it's not because he's a tactical genius - it's simply because the length and breadth of his magic mastery (in terms of both knowledge and practice) vastly eclipses anything Bruce Wayne brings to the table and he's quite adept at adapting it to various different situations. Strange, as the Sorcerer Supreme (the title granted in the Marvel universe to the "practitioner of the mystic or magic arts who has greater skills than all others or commands a greater portion of the ambient magical energies than any other organism on a given world or dimension"), could pretty much cast any spell in existence. He was essentially capable of warping the very reality around him (so, for example, in a prep battle with Batman, he could simply turn all of Batman's equipment into cupcakes) and capable of manipulating time (so his prep could involve preventing the birth of Bruce or his parents so he didn't even exist). Basically, he operates at a level that Batman couldn't even comprehend, let alone compete with. Strange has also prepared spells that have defeated abstract cosmic entities like the In-Betweener and knocked out the planet-devouring Galactus, while he has displayed the ability to jack power from the likes of Eternity (the de facto leader of the abstract entities collectively known as the Cosmic Powers of the Marvel universe) and, with only a couple of seconds to prepare, he was able to stalemate the Infinity Gauntlet (as wielded by Adam Warlock) - albeit nearly dying in the process, but that is still insane preparatory work and far beyond anything Batman could ever dream of doing.
