10 Image Graphic Novels You Must Read Before You Die
3. Wanted
Back in 2008, there was a movie titled Wanted revolving around a sniper organization responsible for killing people based on prophesy. If this is your only knowledge of the franchise, it's time to get to your local comic book store and pick up a copy of the book that loosely inspired that film.
Wanted was a limited comic book series consisting of six issues that came out in 2003-2004. The series was written by Mark Millar with illustrations provided by J. G. Jones. All six issues are compiled in a single volume, which also features additional content in both softcover and hardcover.
Forget the movie, the book is far different and considerably better. The story follows Wesley Gibson as he learns he is meant to join a fraternity of criminals due to his father's former inclusion in the group.
The story continues as Gibson finds the criminal world much more appealing than his former life as a white-collar schmuck. Read the book, forget the movie, and then go back and read the book again. You won't be disappointed.
