10 Insane Alternate Versions Of Green Lantern You Won't Believe Exist

7. Leonard Lewis - Just Imagine

Stan Lee is synonymous with Marvel, and for plenty good reason. The late, great generalissimo marshalled the burgeoning years of the Marvel universe alongside such legendary figures as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and John Romita, and frequently traded blows with DC as the Big Two fostered a rivalry into the Bronze Age of Comics.

It was a rivalry that had subsided drastically come the late nineties, to the point where Stan 'the man' actually collaborated with the Distinguished Competition to helm a whole new series, titled Just Imagine.

The premise behind Just Imagine was that it would see the former Marvel editor effectively reimagine DC's most famous characters. Both Batman and Superman got Stan's treatment, but - purely in visual terms - the most interesting reimagining has to be Green Lantern's.

Boasting a classic case of Stan's alliterative naming conventions, in this world, Leonard Lewis was the main Green Lantern. Lee rebranded the character as an elemental champion more than a space cop, with Lewis boasting more in common with Swamp Thing than your average Lantern. It was a huge departure, but Dave Gibbons' design is all the more impressive because of it.
