10 Insane Alternate Versions Of The Joker You Won’t Believe Exist

8. The Robin Joker - Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again

Joker White Knight
DC Comics

While the Dark Knight Strikes Again is not the world's best written or best illustrated comic, it did hit on one interesting alternate version of the Joker.

This is because the Joker in The Dark Knight Strikes Again is not the Joker we saw last in the series, but rather Dick Grayson, Batman's sidekick who we learn he fired after growing frustrated at his lackey's inability to do the job properly.

Naturally, Robin is heartbroken at this, and turns instead to evil, teaming with the likes of Lex Luthor to go under radical gene therapy that would give him superpowers. The procedure steals the final portion of Grayson's remaining sanity, sending him on a murder spree in order to track down and get revenge on his old Bat-boss.

Interestingly, this is arguably one of the most sympathetic Jokers around, as while he does awful things, it's clear that his time working for Bruce mentally scarred him almost as much as the genetic surgery did.
