10 Insane Alternate Versions Of The Joker You Won’t Believe Exist

7. Martha Wayne - Flashpoint

Joker White Knight
DC Comics

What happens when it's Bruce Wayne instead of his parents who dies in that fateful alley mugging? Well, the Batman and Joker are still born - just in a very different way.

The Flashpoint universe revolves around this idea, and has Martha end up in the role of the Joker after a nervous breakdown following the loss of her darling boy.

Not willing to sit by while his wife indiscriminately murders and maims in Gotham, Thomas becomes the universe's Batman, creating an even more charged rivalry between the two than you can find between the actual Dark Knight and Clown Prince.

For a moment, it appears as though the two may reconcile in the series, as when Thomas finds the main universe's Batman, he's overjoyed to be able to tell his wife that he's found a way for them to be reunited with his son. When he accidentally reveals that Bruce becomes Batman to Martha, however, she is naturally less pleased, and in her horror flees and falls to her death.

If there's one thing consistent in every universe, it's that the Waynes are incredibly unlucky, especially in their dealings with clowns.
