A whole lot of comics are based around simply taking the weirdest concept folk can imagine and running with it to see if it succeeds or doesn't quite hit the mark.

Sometimes, though, these literally insane concepts work all too well - as is the case with Dark Claw, an alternate universe Wolverine within the Amalgam Comics universe.

This universe was created as a joint franchise between Marvel and DC, where the two companies would fuse their biggest characters into one because... well, because it was a really fun concept, albeit a totally surreal one.

Thus, Wolverine and Batman were combined to make Dark Claw, which is a considerably better name than the other possibilities of Wolfman or Batverine.

While seeing Dark Claw face off against Hyena - who is a combination of the Joker and Sabretooth - is entirely weird, it's the nice kind of weird. The whole thing feels like fanfiction written by three stoned teens, and sometimes that's the energy an alternate universe needs to have.
