10 Insane Alternate Versions Of Wolverine You Won’t Believe Exist

8. Wild West Wolverine

Batman Wolverine Dark Claw
Marvel Comics

Wolverine is a character that naturally suits the general vibe of the Wild West - partially because he's basically a superhero equivalent of an old west gunslinger, and partially because the way he speaks would also suit that time period.

So it's not a surprise that Logan is a perfect fit as a cowboy bounty hunter in Deadpool: Merc With A Mouth #7, which sees Wade journey through several different dimensions on some suitably wacky antics.

It only takes a second's look at this version of Howlett to see why the Marvel Legends toyline that simply had Logan in a cowboy hat sold like hotcakes. There's something about seeing the gruff hero in gunslinger garb that just works, and even though his appearance in this comic is painfully brief, it opens up a world of potential for future Elseworld series.

While Old Man Logan comes close to scratching that itch, we can only hope for more - as given how many Marvel Zombies series there have been, the company is surely willing to try at least a little more in the world of westerns.
