10 Insane Alternate Versions Of Spider-Man You Won't Believe Exist

8. The Celebrity Wall Crawler

Marvel ComicsMarvel ComicsTo most characters in the Marvel Universe, House Of M was a dystopian look at what could have been. For Spider-Man, meanwhile, it was quite the opposite: where the regular version of Spidey, as we've said, has a crummy personal life and has to contend with J Jonah Jameson using the Daily Bugle as part of his one-man crusade to get the general public to think of him as a menace, in this alternate reality created by an insane Scarlet Witch? He's a legit celebrity, known and adored by all! Which is pretty much as far away from the norm for Spider-Man as it's possible to get, which is pretty insane. Even weirder is that Gwen Stacy is alive, he's married to her, and everybody knows his secret identity. He has achieved fame and fortune through being an actor, super-hero, wrestler, and businessman. He lives a life of luxury, Rhino is his bodyguard, and he hired Jameson as his publicist just so he could consistently rag on him in public. The icing on the cake is that Uncle Ben, the father figure who was killed and passed on the lesson that made Spider-Man the hero he is today, is alive and well too. It turns out at the end of the House Of M crossover that this new reality, where mutants ruled rather than being oppressed, was created by the Scarlet With under the auspices of her father Magneto, where everyone's deepest wish was granted. Aw. Shame it had to be undone, really.
