Mogo is a planet. No joke, he is a living planet, full conscious awareness and all. While it draws comparison with Ego from the Marvel side of things, Mogo’s character is far more complex and has played a massive role in various DC events over the decades.

He is a member of the Green Lantern Corps and one who is tasked with one of its essential duties. Mogo guides the Lantern rings to its new owners after the previous one dies. Without Mogo to carry out this duty, the Green Lanterns were brought to extinction.

Aside from his responsibility finding new Lanterns, Mogo wields tremendous power in his own right. He can alter the weather conditions inside him as a form of defence, change his gravity and is able to traverse great distances across the cosmos.

He played major roles in events such as the Infinite Crisis, the Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night and many others. Despite all his power, this behemoth is in fact a softy at its core. He frequently allows alien species to settle on his surface and even provides them with favourable weather and soil conditions. And more often than not, he does not even declare his presence to anyone, preferring to just stick to his duty and mind his own planetary business. What a guy.
