10 Insane Superman Crossovers You Won't Believe Exist

8. Superman Vs. Predator

Superman vs Alien Xenomorph
DC Comics

In another example of corporate synergy attempting to answer the questions of fans everywhere (okay, maybe some fans), DC published the titular story that saw Superman go against the Predator in an unashamedly early 2000s-style tale of heroes, Predators, and the fate of the world at stake.

The story kicks off with the Man of Tomorrow investigating the crash of an alien ship in a Central American jungle, that quickly goes awry when he is infected by a mysterious virus that saps him of his powers (in yet another attempt to even out the odds when he encounters the Predator).

He then encounters a S.T.A.R. labs team research team investigating the same crash and this attracts the attention of a mad scientist, his mercenaries, and the Predator itself, who deems Superman worthy prey.

The crossover is severely hampered by an underwhelming clash between the titular characters, inconsistent art style, a somewhat contrived way to depower Superman to make him a fair fight for the predator. Similarly, the mad scientist's plot adds unnecessary bloat (and problematic content) to a story that would have benefitted from more straightforward execution.
