9. James Rhodes - MC2
Sometimes the future isn't so bleak, as the MC2 continuity of Marvel Comics made clear.
The MC2 universe wasn't a dystopia or under the thumb of a tyrant. It was played as the official future of the Marvel-616, with the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane leading the legacy charge as Spider-Girl. This led to some insane reveals and arguably James Rhodes becoming basically Superman may top that.
Rhodey has a rich history as both Iron Man's pal and Iron Man himself, so when the future shows that Rhodey would have Tony test nanobots on him making him nearly invulnerable and able to shoot energy blasts.
However, the drawback is that the nanobots have made Rhodes into nothing more than Stark's personal robot bodyguard.
