10 Insane Times Supervillains Developed New Powers

9. Magneto - Wormholes

Magneto Wormhole
Marvel Comics

Magneto might be the master of magnetism (or the master of 'magnet', depending on if your only experience to X-Men was through the arcade game), but his abilities stem far beyond simply being able to manipulate metal. Erik Lensherr actually has full control over Earth's magnetic field, and it's meant he can do all sorts as a result.

One power that tends to go under the radar is Magneto's ability to open up magnetic wormholes. He first did so during 2005's Excalibur series, and later used the ability again in House of M to transport a rogue Scarlet Witch away from the Avengers.

It's a bit of a leap, and opens up a whole bunch of implications, but it does cement Magneto as one of the strongest mutants in the Marvel Universe. Who knows what he'll be able to do next?
