6. Mark Gives Up A Perfect Life
After countless turmoil and the deaths of plenty of loved ones, Mark is transported back in time by an unnamed entity, who allows him to fix all the problems he had to face the first time around - only with powers and knowledge that allows him to fix pretty much everything.
However, Mark isn't happy with this, as he's trapped years in the past, unsure if he'll ever get to see his child again - or indeed, if his child can even exist in this timeline.
With this in mind, Mark rejects the offer to let him stay in this timeline, as he wants to get back to his family and the people he cares about. The entity berates him for this, but the hero has a pretty good point - that he'd be more or less killing off everyone who existed in his timeline. Given you expect this storyline to continue to the end of the comic, it's pretty hugely surprising when instead Mark tells the force where it can stick its tendrils and returns to his own time.
