10 Iron Man Graphic Novels You Must Read Before You Die

7. Invincible Iron Man Masterworks Vol. 11

Iron Man Alex Ross
Marvel Comics

Tony Stark has always been a troubled man. He had to come to terms with the fact that his weapons were being used to kill innocent people and various other issues over the course of his life led him to become a man with some serious demons.

One of his many flaws is easily his alcoholism, which was delved into deeply in the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline. When he was coming to the point of "rock bottom," Tony was going through some stuff most people would have a tough time navigating.

During the run by Denny O'Neil, Luke McDonnell, and Steve Mitchell, Tony had passed on his Iron Man suit to his buddy James Rhodes. Without his armor, Tony Stark was becoming a lost man and with the death of his drinking buddy, Iron Man #82's story, "Deliverance" put him right at "rock bottom."

This was the story that took Tony from the very edge of darkness and gave him a point from which he could finally return. "Deliverance" was the story that began Tony's comeback from the broken man he had become to the man who would one day return to the role of Iron Man.

This anthology begins with Iron Man #82 and continues to issue #94 alongside Annuals 3 & 4.
