Tony Stark was one of the principal antagonists/protagonists of the Civil War crossover event. Paired opposite Captain America, Tony took on the role of the pro-Superhero Registration movement and went to war with his former allies. Civil War was one of the most important events in recent Marvel history, but it had serious impacts on the rest of the Marvel Universe.

Following the event, Normon Osborn (otherwise known as the Green Goblin) took control of S.H.I.E.L.D. and with it all of the files related to the Superhero Registration Act. This meant that he had access to every registered superhero's true identity.

Seeing as that was exactly the eventuality Captain America was fighting to stop, Tony realized his mistake and purged the records from the database. The only catch: thanks to the Extremis Virus, Stark retained all of those records in his brain, which Osborn knew all too well.

This made Tony a wanted man and that's exactly what this story is about. Take a man who fought to do what he believed was right and turn it around on him to make him exactly what he was fighting all along. In many ways, this was a redemption story, but also a must-read for anyone looking to see how things turned out following the Civil War.
