8. Prometheus Infiltrates The Base - JLA #16-17 (1998)
When the Justice League decided to expand their roster, the team organised a recruitment party in their base. The supervillain, Prometheus, disguised himself as one of the heroes, Retro, and used his invitation to infiltrate the JLA's headquarters. While the superheroes were interviewing potential members, Prometheus decimated the Watchtower's defences and hacked their files.
When the League realised they had been infiltrated, each member attempted to take down Prometheus - only then did the team realise how much they underestimated the masked supervillain.
Prometheus had planned his scheme for years and so, had strategised how to take down every superhero. He disabled Steel's armour with a virus, paralysed Martian Manhunter, teleported Zauriel to limbo, knocked out Huntress with hypnosis, neutralised Green Lantern's ring, and immobilised Flash.
The moment that stood out the most was when Prometheus went toe-to-toe with Batman... and won! By downloading the fighting skills of the 30 best martial artists (including Batman) directly into his brain, Prometheus wiped the floor with the Caped Crusader. Fortunately, Prometheus was defeated after Catwoman whipped him in the testicles (no, really), which forced the supervillain to retreat.
