Selina Kyle is a lot of fun, what with her Catwoman persona and all. But what really makes her cool is what's churning in those eyes behind the mask. Selina has a lot of pain in her life, from how she had to live before becoming Catwoman, to the truth of her ancestry, to the many shades of moral ambiguity she feels she must navigate to achieve her goals. Selina doesn't always enjoy what she's doing, but she always knows exactly what she wants and doesn't let anything stand in her way. And that's the pointit's all about what she FEELS she must do, and to take the most direct paths possible. Because of her reactions to how her life has played out, she reacts as a mature, three-dimensional adult in extraordinary ways both grand and subtle, especially for the world of comics. In many stories she's even portrayed as more stable than Bruce Wayne. She has enough layers to be. Minus the questionable one-liners of course.
